And Satan Came Among Them

This morning Pastor Joe talked about something very important that we must take care and do everyday in order to keep in track with Jesus and God!

Before I write about what today's service was about I'd like to invite you to Christ Church in Palm Harbor, Florida. You can follow the service in person in the city of Palm Harbor in Florida or via internet through this link: http://www.christchurchpalmharbor.com/Live_Stream.html

Pastor Joe, through his teaching this morning shared with us a sermon based on the Bible. Below are some of the scriptures mentioned and used to make the point. Please read the scriptures below first and think about them, meditate on them. Make your notes. Then you continue reading this article!

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a raring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:6-8

"There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughter. His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
And hos sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan came also among them." Job 1:1-6

"Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyriah hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones." Jeremiah 50:17
"I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought. According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me. Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them: I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them." Hosea 13:5-8

"Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams" Genesis 37:20

So, Satan does come among the people of God. When we get distracted and lazy and specially when life is good as we tend to forget about God in good times.

The bible tells us to get ready and prepare and be vigilant and no individual church is the only one. There is no such thing. Today the truth of God is being spread by many people all around the world. Be vigilant and pray so God will give you discerning over the truth!

Below are some things that attract the devour in our midst:

  1. Pride is a terrible enemy and will lead people in the wrong path.
  2. Rejecting the word of God. Be aware that if you do not accept or trust the word of God you are rejecting it. There is no middle term. Please read Genesis 37.
  3. Inability to forgive and forget.
  4. Treason.
  5. Pride and self interest.
  6. Jealousy and envy.
  7. Rebellion.
  8. Wrong shepherds. Those shepherds who use people to enrich themselves.
  9. Transgressions and willful sin.
  10. Rob God. This happens when you don't give your tithes and offerings.
It is therefore vital that we follow God's instructions. When your spirit is bounded with Christ's and you are one with Him. That's what we must seek each minute of our day, in our regular, normal daily lives.

Don't blame God. He is near in location and time. The Lord's name delivers and saves. God comes and saves us! He does that every time we allow Him to do so.

Allow God in your life today! Talk to Him!

And the first opportunity go to Palm Harbor church in Florida!

Have a great day and God bless you!
