A Woman of Fortune

I have read a book called A Woman of Fortune. You can find it at http://www.amazon.com/Woman-Fortune-Texas-Novel-Collection/dp/0800722728

It tells the story of the family of the guy responsible for the biggest cattle fraud in the history of the United States.

Well, there is Claire, the wife, Garret, the son who worked with the father, Max, who is a journalist, Lainie, the youngest rebel and Tuck, the husband.

It is a fiction told by Kellie Coates Gilbert who is a former legal investigator and trial paralegal who investigated the largest cattle fraud case in US history. Although it is a created story, it is based on a real one and in the words of Kellie herself, she wanted to learn what is it like for a wife to learn her husband is a criminal, and what happens to children when they face that kind of shame. Be aware dear reader that in the story Tuck and Claire were married for 30 years when the scandal happened.

Once again, according to the author herself this is the story of a family who lost their footing and in the end landed on solid ground.

It is amazing the way she describes each character and their behavior when everything is alright, when everything falls apart and while rebuilding.

This story is a MUST READ as it tells the story of a family with everything going nowhere transformed into a family with nothing so they could be able to find themselves and start heading somewhere.

It is amazing in my opinion and that actually happens in the real world. Sometimes we must lose everything so we can find ourselves. And that's exactly what this story is about.

At the end of the book the author puts 17 questions for discussion which I highly recommend you get a reading book club, can be your family, or a local library, colleagues and even friends. And then read the book and discuss the questions. I advice you to do so because I personally believe that these stories add a lot to our own story. It is like living a whole life within your own. We end this read better people. More mature and more able to make better choices in life.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the book! Remember to comment!
